Business Development Officer

Reporting to the Head, Business Development & Strategy, the Business Development Officer will be responsible for;

  • Initiating and implementing new business development opportunities within the retirement benefits industry and Insurance by identifying and engaging potential individuals, small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) and institutional clients
  • Generating an ideal pipeline of potential clientele
  • Making client visits and presentations of firm products and services to prospective clients, conduct trainings and marketing programs in the niche market
  • Plan and prioritize sales activities that promotes business acquisition ,closure and retention
  • Facilitate new business through preparation of RFP’s and tender documents, manage delivery of client contracts and new service offerings to prospective clients
  • Administration and reporting responsibilities relating to client acquisition
  • Drive innovation, demonstrate creativity in business acquisitions and develop tactical plans to align with and achieve marketing objectives.

 

Job Requirements

  • A business related degree/Diploma from recognised Institution
  • Appropriate qualification/training in sales and marketing
  • Proven work experience preferably 3 years in the financial services sector, e.g. bank, insurance companies pensions administrators or Fund Managers will be advantage
  • Proven experience and success in dealing with institutional clients and SMEs will be added advantage
  • Solid understanding of pension or Insurance or related financial products
  • Strong and excellent sales, presentation and negotiation skills in order to effectively interact and communicate with clients to achieve significant growth and financial objectives

Financial Advisors

The advisors will support the business to achieve business goals in respect to top line, market share, and client recruitment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Initiating new business development opportunities within the retirement benefits industry and Insurance by identifying and engaging potential clientele
  • Aggressively making calls, visits and oral presentations of firm products and services to prospective clientele
  • Planning sales activities that promotes business acquisition and closure
  • General administration and reporting relating to sales production;
  • Creating innovative sales approaches and solutions

Requirements

  • KCSE Grade of C + and above
  • Proven work experience preferably in the financial services sector
  • Proven experience and success in dealing with institutional clients and SMEs
  • Solid understanding of pension or Insurance or related financial products
  • Strong and excellent sales, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; team player and strong collaboration
